A Biblical Concept
Whether a believer or non believer, every word we utter, each thought we think or deed we perform, counts for eternity.
Let's make it count for good!
Consider that nothing is lost: not our DNA, not the sound waves of our voices, nor the energy of our thoughts, nor a record of our actions within our time domain on planet earth.
Every Careless Word
"Every careless word that people speak they shall give an accounting for it in the day of judgment" (Matthew 12:36).
Thoughts Accusing or Defending Us
…"they show the work of the Law written in their hearts, their conscience bearing witness and their thoughts alternately accusing or else defending them on the day when, according to my gospel, God will judge the secrets of men through Christ Jesus" (Romans 2:15-16, NASB).
Good or Bad Deeds
"For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ so that each one may be recompensed for his deeds in the body according to what he has done, whether good or bad" (2 Corinthians 5:10).
As unsettling as it may be the Bible is clear. Each of us will account for "Every Word" …
We must make sure that we are protected by God's gift of salvation and believe:
- Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures,
- He was buried, and
- He was resurrected according to the Scriptures.
(1 Corinthians 15:3-4)
"According to the Scriptures" above mean,
… that the prophets of the Old Testament prophetically spoke of His death, burial and resurrection centuries before they happened (see Luke 24:25-27, Psalm 22:16-18 and Isaiah 53).
To know "who, how and why" we can joyously find prophecies of our true Messiah in the Old Testament as well as the New Testament.
