Q. A short while ago I saw a news story about Mickey Mouse being used as a terrorist propaganda program for Islamic children. Is this true?
A Disconnect to the Western Mindset
Yes, it's true. This is one of those "disconnects" that we hear about, scratch our heads, and file away in the recesses of our brains. It's so horrifying that we don't know what to do with it. So we pretend it doesn't exist.
Delusional Thinking
It is amazing to watch Americans and Europeans struggle with reality as they attempt to rationalize away and promote "dialogue" with what is clearly evil. It is as if we exist in two separate universes. One glorifies evil. The other pretends it doesn't exist.
It reminds me of the warning in 2 Thessalonians 2:11 when "God sends them a strong delusion so that they may believe what is false…" This kind of thinking will ultimately lead to their destruction and judgment. Meanwhile, it appears as if God may be punishing us, the Western world, through them - just as He once used the Babylonians (Iraq) to punish the wayward Israelites.
Not your Mom's Disney Character
Not long ago each Friday on Al-Aqsa TV run by Hamas, children were shown a giant Mickey Mouse who says things like, "You and I are laying the foundation for a world led by Islamists. We will return the Islamic community to its former greatness, and liberate Jerusalem, God willing, liberate Iraq, God willing, and liberate all the countries of the Muslims invaded by the murderers."
The cartoon image incites children to hate Jews and Americans and to find glory in cold-blooded murders. These are the children who will grow up to take part in demonstrations and riots inciting violent acts in their citizens. This is not your Mom's Mickey Mouse Club, that's for sure!
Islamic School Texts
We have known for some time that Palestinians, Iranians, and other extremist Islamic groups "brainwash" their children to believe that "Jews are monkeys and pigs." This phrase is right out of their school textbooks.
Protocols of the Elders of Zion Fiction
We also know that Middle Eastern government schools teach as fact the Protocols of the Elders of Zion. This is a fraudulent document that blames the Jews for just about everything.
It teaches that the Jews plan to take over the world through finance, the news media, government, and other forms of control. Iranian and Egyptian schools, Hamas, the Palestinian National Authority, Al Qaeda, and Saudi Arabian schools indoctrinate their children with this kind of slanted, revisionist hate-propaganda and history.
Nazi Literature
We need to remember that the Nazis also used the Protocols as justification for persecution of the Jews. Hitler referenced the Protocols in his Mein Kampf (chapter XI, pp. 307-308).
Whose Spirit Here?
Evangelical Christians believe that the same "spirit" who inspired Nazis to turn Jewish skins into lampshades, the same "spirit" who inspires groups to deny the holocaust regardless of the evidence, photos, and valid historical methodology, the same "spirit" who foments hatred for Jews and Americans, is also the "spirit" behind the movement fomenting violence today.
Evangelicals need to remember that the Lord told Hagar the following about her son, Ishmael:
"He will be a wild donkey of a man. His hand will be against everyone, and everyone's hand will be against him. And he will live to the east of all his brothers" (Genesis 16:12, NASB).
