Noah's Ark - Could it Be?

CNN reports as recently as a few weeks ago, NASA scientists have found Maya ruins hidden for 1000 years, in the rainforests of Central America. These scientists were using space and aircraft techniques when they found it. GeoEye's ikonos satellite and the GPS Positioning System help ferret out archaeological ruins as well as to track you or me in our cars and airplanes.

Similarly, a high-resolution image taken by DigitalGlobe's "QuickBird" satellite caught an intriguing image resting at a 15,300 ft. elevation on the northwest corner of Mount Ararat in Turkey.

A Gigantic Carrier

It is the huge image of something like a boat larger than the Titanic or the Bismarck. In fact, it rivals our largest modern aircraft carrier. Rather than the shape of a barge, it appears to be similar to the Titanic, with radius on keel and stern. It has a 6:1 ratio of length to width which happens to follow the blueprint given to Noah in Genesis 6:15.

Strong Preservative Agent

Furthermore, did you know that Noah's Ark was brushed with tar or pitch inside and outside, which would act as a strong preservative agent? (Genesis 6:14)

"As in the Days of Noah…"

Why should this matter to you and me?

For decades many pastors have wondered if Noah's Ark might be found just as end-times catastrophes hit our planet with a fury unknown like anything before. Pastors such as David Wilkerson have spent a lifetime studing what the nature of the endtimes may be from a biblical perspective.

Many look to the story of Noah for clues.
"As were the days of Noah, so will be the coming of the Son of Man. For as in those days before the flood they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the day when Noah entered the ark, and they were unaware until the flood came and swept them all away, so will be the coming of the Son of Man" (Matthew 24:37-39, ESV).

Sober Up

1 Peter 5:8 instructs us to "be of sober spirit, be on the alert." This means we should be watchful and ready as if facing danger. At the end of Luke 21 we are told to "keep on the alert at all times, praying in order that you may have strength to escape all these things that are about to take place."

Perhaps we need to sober up. Maybe we should quit thinking about only worldly things. No more consumer-clones and debt-junkies C'mon…Lets Wake-up people!

Could the finding of ancient Biblical artifacts be the foreshadowing of the times of Jacob's trouble? (Jeremiah 30:7, 32:14) Hmmm…
"Take these sealed evidences…and put them in an earthen vessel, that they may last for a long time" (Jer. 32:14).

The above quotation is obviously not about Noah's Ark, but the reality of Scripture consistantly being validated by modern day archeology due to the nature of the locations, the artifacts and their preservation is intriguing and exciting!
