Gnostic Gospels Timeline

Any idea when the Gnostic gospels were written? Here's something to share with skeptics. It should "put to rest" theories from the Da Vinci Code movie or trendy Gnostic "gospels":

If Yeshua (Hebrew for "Jesus") had been born in 1900, the following events would have been dated this way:

1900 - Birth of Christ (c. 5-4 B.C.)

1932 - Crucifixion and Resurrection (A.D.32)

1935 - Early Creed from 1 Cor.15:1-6 (c. A.D. 35)

1945 - Early New Testament writings (c. A.D. 45)

1990 - Last New Testament Gospel (c. A.D. 90)

1995 - Book of Revelation written (c. A.D. 94-96)

2030 - Gnostic Gospel of Thomas written (c. A.D. 125)

2050 - Gnostic Gospel of Mary written (c. A.D. 145)

2170 - Gnostic Gospel of Philip written (c. A.D. 265-300)

Sometimes it's hard for us to visualize a chronology of events. Use this tool the next time someone tries to convince you that Gnosticism contributes "valuable historical" information to early Christianity!
