Jesus… Buddha’s Student?
It has always bothered me that there isn’t more writing about the youth of Jesus and his own study. There are many who speculate that he studied with the Buddha. …JG from Houston

My family & some friends insist Christianity is just a crutch for losers who can’t make it in the real world & there are no absolutes. They ridicule me & my beliefs when we get together. Suggestions?

How do I know my faith is “real” enough to save me? How do I know Christianity is true and Jesus really lived? How can I have faith in someone I can’t see or touch? How do you make a leap of faith?

A friend gave me a copy of Bart Ehrman’s book called Misquoting Jesus. This book really bothers me because he is so educated but says the bible is full of errors – like 400,000. What do you think?

Without question the violence of the Crucifixion parallels the violence of our Sin. We desperately need Salvation from the pervasiveness of Sin in our own bodies and in the world around us. Nature itself has fallen prey to Sin. Like the wicked witch of the east in the Wizard of Oz, we are “melting.” Sin has destroyed planet earth.

Dr, Bart Ehrman says we don’t have the original texts of the N.T. He says we only have copies of copies of copies – and these differ from each other! So what’s left? How do we know the N.T. is true?

I’ve seen internet sites that talk about Christianity being a copy of other religions like in that Zeitgeist film. But, are there some general things to tell people who are influenced by this?

Why do you think Christianity is the truth and not Islam or Buddhism or other religions? (J.M., Mt. Vernon, WA)

“They were in the wrong place at the wrong time,” quip world leaders. Is this what we believe? Fate? Chance? Happenstance? Is there such a thing?

Are Arabs or Arab nations mentioned in the Bible? If so, where can I find them? Are they called “Arabs?” (J.M., Mt. Vernon, WA)

I’m curious. Just what is the Apocrypha? Where does it come from? Why isn’t it included in Protestant Bibles? Why do Catholics include it in their Bibles?

Q. How can you really believe the Bible is God’s Word, or that a virgin conceived a baby, or believe in a real resurrection? Please explain. (J.M., Mt. Vernon, WA)
