Bible & Prophecy

Bible & Prophecy
Richard Allen Reeves

Of the hundreds of prophecies made in the Bible (both in the Old and New Testaments), every one to date has come to pass exactly as foretold. Based on this fact alone, we can rest assured that prophecies and promises made by God as documented in the Bible and yet to be fulfilled, will happen.

As a point of interest, all but a few of the many major Bible prophesies have been fulfilled to date. The latest major fulfilled prophecy, made thousands of years ago, was the re-birth of the Jewish nation Israel along with the resurrection of its ancient Hebrew language exactly as foretold.

Jews Return to Land

“I will bring them out from the peoples and gather them from the countries, and I will bring them into their own land” (Ezekiel 34:13 NASB).
(See Amos 9:14-15 Jeremiah 16:15).

Ancient Language Revived

“For at that time I will change the speech of the peoples to a pure language…to serve Him with one accord” (Zephaniah 3:9).

Global Governance

The prophecy of a one-world government is coming to fruition right before our eyes. A one-world religion, as prophesied, is also coming together (Rev. 13 and 17). We observe almost all churches beginning to compromise the true doctrines of faith as they promote “harmony” and “peace.” Just keep your eye on the news. A one-world religion and a one-world government are in their embryonic stages.

Determined people from both the political and religious arenas are working towards these goals right now. The EU and proposed Pan-American Union are all steps toward that ultimate goal of a one-world government. As the EU sets laws for all of the formerly sovereign nations, so shall the one-world government start to become a reality in form and function.

Israel

Israel is the only nation in recorded history that has ever been restored as a nation almost 2000 years after being completely dissolved as a state in 70 A.D. At that time, her peoples were scattered to the four corners of the earth.

Yet, there it is for all to see just exactly as God said. This was no Nostrodamus phenomenon or a great guess by a lucky person. It is a fulfillment of Old Testament prophecy. It is all part of God’s plan for the Jewish people according to Scripture.

Jerusalem a Cup of Trembling

Of all the cities of the world, little old Jerusalem has had and will come to have more press coverage than Moscow, L.A., New York, or London combined. (Sadly, New York got more than its share in 2001. But, do not take your eyes and ears off of Jerusalem).

God said He would make Jerusalem a “cup of trembling…a burdensome stone” (Zech. 12:2 NASB) for the whole world. It is happening as we read the news every day. Furthermore, Israel’s neighboring countries have been trying to drive her into the sea since 1948!

Always Their Fault

After the acts of war against America in New York and Washington, blame will eventually be laid on the doorstep of Israel and America (because of its support for Israel). If only the U.S., “the Great Satan,” would not mollycoddle Israel, “the Little Satan,” these terrorist attacks would not have happened. This will soon be the mantra as some start to lay blame, and internal U.S. animosity towards Israel starts to build.

“I Swear by the holy Koran”

If people believe that pulling out U.S. support for Israel will pacify the Muslim world, then they are ignorant of the ultimate goals of Islam (despite what so-called moderate Muslims may say).

Let me explain. Muslims must believe their holy book, the Koran, and the writings of Mohammed their Prophet. This includes a belief that Islam is to be spread by the sword, if need be. If they do not believe this, then how faithful to the word of their god Allah are they?

Training Little Homicide Bombers

The PLO (who is faithful to Islam) has never formally removed the declaration in their charter that calls upon all so-called Palestinians to drive Israel into the sea. When this dogma is constantly pounded into the minds of little children from the “git-go” in Muslim schools, what can we expect as an outcome? Palestinian children learn Jihad responsibilities by throwing rocks at Jewish worshippers at the Wailing Wall, or at soldiers defending the people of Israel. Then they graduate to “homicide bombings.”

Key to our Future

To see what will happen in the future of our world, including the United States, watch carefully what happens in and around Israel. Our future security, finances, and social structure is very dependent on the future of Israel and her neighbors.

As Israel turned from God and suffered the inevitable consequences, I am afraid we shall see great consequences to our own country as we also turn from God, and as we turn from supporting the “apple of God’s eye,” Israel (Zech. 2:8).

Only True Prophetic Writings

Aside from the Bible, no other religious writings on earth contain prophecy that has been fulfilled down to the very date, time, event, and person. The reason, despite claims to the contrary, is that our Creator did not divinely inspire any other writings. The authors of other so-called prophecies could only guess at future happenings. Such predictions were written without the inspiration of the Holy Spirit who alone knows the future.

“I am God, and there is no one like me, declaring the end from the beginning, and from ancient times things which have not been done” (Isaiah 46:9-10 NASB).

This is a bold assertion by the God of our Universe, who is not subject to the constraints of “time.” God exists outside of time altogether. It is “He who inhabits eternity” (Isaiah 57:15 KJV).

Other Writings Contain Errors

Indeed, although many religious writings claim to have been inspired by supernatural beings or gods, all are full of errors and contradictions. Their doctrines and tenets change frequently (by divine inspiration, of course). We must come to realize that some of these holy books may have been inspired by spirits other than the Holy Spirit of God. The Bible warns that Satan prowls the earth looking for people or for ways to deceive us, and to keep people from coming to the full knowledge of Jesus (1 Pet. 5:8).

Making erroneous prophecies in a “holy” book is a quick way to cast doubts about one’s religious faith and “holy” book. Even if religious authors were to write prophecies, and only one failed to come to pass, it would be enough to discredit them and their religion.

God never Changes

We are thankful that our Lord has not and will not change even one whit. He doesn’t have to change because His Word was perfect from the beginning. “Situational ethics” is not a part of his vocabulary! The Bible says that God is the same yesterday, today, and tomorrow. Praise God that we don’t have to worry about Him changing his mind. He will never change His doctrine in a sea of political correctness. Nor will he change to the current “in thing” of today just to meet the fickleness of people’s whims and desires.

Biblical Authenticity & Inspiration

Long forgotten lost and buried ancient towns, and long forgotten historical rulers, are now showing up in present day archaeological digs. In fact, archaeologists use the Bible to find what they are looking for. They use the Bible as a textbook and a roadmap for where they should look, what they should look for, and how to interpret their finds.

(Remnant Report Insert) – Associated Press, for example, recently reported that archaeologists think they have found a cave where John the Baptist baptized many of his followers. The L.A. Times reported that the biblical Pool of Siloam where Jesus healed the blind man was found and excavated.

Thus, we can see that mere men could not have simply made-up the Bible. Those writings made by men were guided by the Holy Spirit. The Bible has God’s fingerprints all over it and through it! It is only God who knows the future of the world. It is only God who knows the future for every single one of us.

God the Creator knows everything that will happen in the future of our world. He even knows the hairs that fall off your head (a special note to balding men). “Indeed, the very hairs of your head are all numbered” (Luke 12:7 NASB). God knows the future. That is why the prophecies are absolute and will be fulfilled exactly as written. The Bible states that God knows everything. The Bible, dear readers, can be believed as The Truth.
