Antichrist – Exists Now?

Antichrist Exists Now?

Q. Do you think the Antichrist exists now? What would indicate his presence? What would he be like? How would we know he’s here? Is there a description of him in the bible?

Answer:

There are lots of factors that indicate the antichrist may be alive today. Let’s look at a few.

A Nation Reborn

Ezekiel 36 & 37 describes Israel being reborn as a nation before the Antichrist takes over the world. As we know Israel was “reborn” in 1948 after almost 2000 years of zero-nation status.

Russian Alliance with Iran

Ezekiel 38 & 39 describes the rise of a dictator in Russia who will build an alliance with Iran and other Middle Eastern countries hostile to Israel. We have seen this happen with Putin and others. It may not be long before Russia and allied nations attack Israel. This will be the war of Gog and Magog as Ezekiel foretold.

Antichrist’s Peace-Plan

The Antichrist will arise to bring a seven year peace plan to Israel in the midst of the nations’ hostility towards her. You might want to watch the news for such a defined peace-plan. It isn’t far into the future because we see hostility against Israel even from America – once her staunch ally.

Taskforce to Clean-up Nuclear Toxic Waste

Be sure to check-out the special “taskforce” who will probably clean-up nuclear waste from these wars as described in Ezekiel 39:11-15. A section will be “blocked off” to those who would “pass by.” (Ezek. 39:11). Contaminated bodies will be buried in a special place (39:12). Anyone who sees contaminated dead bones will set a “marker” by the remains (29:15) and refuse to touch anything. It will take a minimum of seven months to cleanse the land of this toxicity.

Amazing description…

Jerusalem becomes Focus of World News

Ezekiel also prophesied that Jerusalem would become the center of history during the times of the Antichrist.

Ezekiel 5:5 says: “This is Jerusalem, which I have set in the center of the nations, with countries all around her.” Israel will be the focal point of all news in this period of history.

The Revived Roman Empire

Daniel 9:26-27 says that the Antichrist will emerge from those who destroyed the Temple and the city of Jerusalem after the Messiah would be killed. Christ was crucified in 32 A.D. In 70 A.D. the Romans destroyed Jerusalem and the Temple.

The revived Roman Empire began with the European Economic Community which was created on March 25, 1957 upon the signing of the Treaty of Rome. Finally called the EU, it has one common currency, a somewhat functioning economic and political system, and a larger population than the United States (Wikipedia.com).

The European Union (EU) is a “political and economic community of twenty-seven member states, located primarily in Europe. It was established in 1993 by the Treaty of Maastricht, adding new areas of policy to the existing European Community. With almost 500 million citizens, the EU combined generates an estimated 30 percent share of the world’s nominal gross domestic product (US $16.6 trillion) in 2007).” (AssistNews.net).

15 Articles

The first 15 articles of its new constitution were drafted in 2003. They refer to the EU members’ national identities and human rights, its commitment to social justice and the environment. But, there is no mention of religion. (ReligiousTolerance.org) This is appropriate to a future Antichrist who sets himself up in opposition to God.

Prominence of Iraq

The Old Testament prophets Isaiah and Jeremiah note that Babylon in Iraq plays a prominent part in end times prophecy centered around the Antichrist. Revelation 18 describes Babylon’s riches and demise.

Prominence of Asian Countries

Revelation 16:12 states that “kings from the east” will march through Iraq, up the Euphrates River, and onward to the famous battle of Armageddon in Israel. In an amazing prophecy the bible notes the number of this vast army – “two hundred million” (Revelation 9:16). Who could have imagined an army comprised of 200 million men prior to China’s one-child birth control policy?

Implantable Chips & Tech

In a stunning fulfillment of prophecy we now have what could be the Antichrist’s famous “mark of the beast” – an implantable microchip (Revelation 13:16). This type of technology will be used to track individuals worldwide and it will form the basis of a new economy. No one can buy or sell anything without the chip.

With economies on the brink of failure is anyone ready for the “Verichip” or the “Digital Angel”? Will you take this “mark” if it is required of you by law? If currencies totally collapse and your family is hungry would you accept charity from a world organization?

Satellitie T.V.

We also have the ability to see news events worldwide through the use of satellite television. How else could the “peoples and tribes and tongues and nations…look at their dead bodies for three and a half days” when the two witnesses are killed who are hostile to the Antichrist? (Rev. 11:9)

E. Wing of Roman Empire

While traditional scholarship says the Antichrist will come from Western Europe – probably Rome – there is nothing that forbids an antichrist from coming from the Eastern branch of the revived Roman Empire. This could include a place such as Turkey where ancient Constantinople thrived.

The Assyrian

There is a strange character called “The Assyrian” in bible prophecy who very well may be the antichrist.

Worthless Shepherd

Zechariah 11:17 refers to this worthless Assyrian shepherd. Because the Jews rejected the true shepherd, the prophet Zechariah is commanded to “play” the false shepherd which likely depicts the antichrist:

“Woe to the worthless
shepherd
Who leaves the flock!
A sword will be on his
Arm
And on his right eye!
His arm will be totally
Withered
And his right eye will be
Blind.”

(Zechariah 11:17)

Theologians such as Dr. Chuck Missler suggest the antichrist may be wounded in war. He may have a withered arm and a patch over his blinded eye. Because of these wounds he may possibly demand that people be “marked” on their right hand or forehead as a symbol of allegiance to him. Who knows? It is clear that he will be convincing and charismatic to most of the world and they will want to follow him.

Not “Present” – Evacuated

At any rate, many prophecy scholars think that Christians won’t be present when the antichrist takes total control of economies and the world’s food supplies and demands that all citizens take the “mark.” 2 Thessalonians 2:3-5 says we’ll be gone – evacuated – by the time the antichrist demands worship as a god and the mark placed upon all who would buy or sell in the new economic system.

All Hell Breaks Loose

At that point all hell breaks loose on planet earth! You don’t want to be here! There will be unprecedented earthquakes, famines, plagues, pollution of water and food supplies, horrid persecution (2 out of 3 Jews will be killed and almost all newly converted Christians slaughtered), 100 pound hailstones, nuclear winter, and probably asteroid or comet strikes around the planet which may cause a magnetic pole shift.

Are you ready to be evacuated from planet earth?

I am.

Beam me up, Lord.

“Then we who are alive, who are left, will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air…” (1 Thess. 4:17).
