Just a Cup of Water…

Gina is a beautiful lady who was baptized on Easter Sunday and serves as one of our Resident Assistants (RA) at the Mission. She loves the Lord and says, “He is the only man who will never leave or forsake me” (Heb. 13:5).

During the Grants Pass Boatnik weekend Gina decided to walk with her baby, her son and his friend to the river. It isn’t an easy walk from the Mission to the river and Gina’s bones were aching. She meant to take the baby’s water bottle so that she could mix it with formula when the baby was hungry. But, she forgot the water bottle. Nevertheless, she decided to continue and just stop at the 7-11 for a bottle of water along the way.

But, Gina forgot about her need for water and went straight through to the river. When she finally arrived at the park by the river Gina thought to herself, “Oh no…it’s going to cost $4 for a bottle of water and I don’t have any money! What am I going to do?”

Gina and her baby were tired and thirsty. She found a shady grassy area to put a blanket down for her baby and herself to sit on. But, before she could even sit down on the blanket, a young, 14 year old boy from a Christian group approached her and said, “Excuse me Ma’am …I believe that God wants me to give you this.” Then the youngster handed Gina a bottle of water!

“This is awesome stuff,” Gina cried. “God is real and he loves me. He shows me he loves me in so many ways and I know he wants me to share this with you!” God loves you and will provide for you, too. Just trust him for everything and pray for the things you need.

… “For I was hungry, and you gave Me something to eat; I was thirsty, and you gave Me something to drink; I was a stranger, and you invited Me in…” (Matt. 25:35).
