God’s Supernatural Powers

Q. I’m 11 years old and I just don’t understand how God can watch or see everyone at the same time. (C.D., Oregon)

Answer:

That’s OK. Most adults can’t figure this one out, either! …me included. Terrific question! Thanks for asking.

Adult’s Fancy, Silly Words

God is way beyond everything we know and see. He is “omniscient” (knows all things) and “omnipresent” (present everywhere) and “omnipotent” (has power over everything). Leave it to adults to think up silly, fancy words like these!

God is Bigger, Smarter & Beyond Everything

Think of it this way. God has to be bigger and smarter than anything his creation can see, think or imagine. This is because He made us and is bigger and smarter than what he makes. So God has to be bigger than all the stars you see at night, and he has to be smarter than Albert Einstein or the smartest person on earth. God isn’t “stuck” in our time, either, since he created “time.” In fact, the Bible says God lives in eternity (Isaiah 57:15 in the King James bible version).

Life’s Parade from God’s Helicopter

A really smart man, Dr. Chuck Missler, who keeps up with all the latest technology explains it like this:

God is like a helicopter pilot who flies above a parade. The pilot can see the beginning, middle and end of the parade all at once. But, everyone else on the ground can only see the floats as they pass by one-by-one. This is like God seeing the past, present and future at the same time. But, the rest of us can only exist in the present. God watches and sees everything while we are stuck watching things happen minute by minute. What is even more amazing is that God can reach down and care for anyone at anytime in history, including you!
