Face the Consequences   

Is God Trying to Tell Us Something?

Several years ago we wrote about the many disasters rolling in one after another upon our American shores. Today we can add the BP oil disaster fouling our precious, pristine shores in the Gulf Coast. But, let’s review yesterday’s news:

Fires are raging in Southern California and destroying well over 1,000 homes. Almost a million Californians have been evacuated. Atlanta City warns that they will run out of water in less than three months – a drought of biblical proportions (their words). Hurricane Katrina destroyed New Orleans – an entire U.S. port city. They still haven’t recovered. Is God trying to tell us something?

Modern Day “Prophets” – Who are They?

In this article we quote a number of modern day Biblical authors and leaders. Are these men the same as the infallible Prophets such as Isaiah or Daniel? Our answer is, of course, no. However, the useage of the Greek word in the New Testament for Prophet (prophetes) denotes one who is a “public expounder” usually of things Scriptural. They are those who “give forth” the Word of God and His plan. It is in this context that we use the word “prophet.” Such are those people who study God’s word and can see Biblical correspondence with the signs of our times particularly as specfic to Israel.


“Don’t Divide God’s Land”

The Lord warns us of the following in Joel 3:2:

“I will gather all the nations and bring them down to the valley of Jehoshaphat” (which means “Yahweh judges,” and may refer to the Kidron Valley on the East of Jerusalem – Ryrie Study Bible, pg. 1397).

Continuing, “Then I will enter into judgment with them there on behalf of My people and My inheritance, Israel, whom they have scattered among the nations – And they have divided up My land.”

Let’s read it again in another translation:

“There I will judge them for harming my people, my special possession, for scattering my people among the nations, and for DIVIDING UP MY LAND.” (NLT)

Can God’s warning be more clear than this? How many ways can the Lord tell us not to mess with Jerusalem? Can He tell us in plainer language than this not to divide Israel? Not to partition off Jerusalem? Are we deaf? Illiterate? Dumb?


Former Secretary of State Rice – Divide Jerusalem

In the last administration Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice pressured Israel to drop all of its redline conditions for the coming peace summit between Palestinians and Israelis in November. (Redlines are the points that cannot be conceded). This was to take place at the Naval Academy in Annapolis, Maryland. “For the first time, the division of Jerusalem is on the table. Since 1967, Israel had steadfastly claimed a united Jerusalem as ‘its eternal capital, never to be divided again.'”

…”Rice traveled to the Middle East this week to help the Israelis and Palestinians formulate a joint statement ahead of November’s conference. The Palestinians want the statement to outline specifically a Palestinian state including the Gaza Strip, West Bank and essentially all of east Jerusalem…” (Lindsey Report).



Hal Lindsey’s Prophetic Warning

Jerusalem is a Heavy Load for the USA

Hal Lindsey warned,

“You know, I fear for both President Bush and Secretary Rice. I also fear for my beloved country. They must be ignorant of a prophecy God made 2,500 years ago through the Hebrew prophet Zechariah.“And it shall happen in that day that I will make Jerusalem a very heavy stone for all peoples…” (meaning the entire world). Now here’s the punch line: “All who would seek to heave it away will surely be cut in pieces.” (Zechariah 12:3)“The original Hebrew makes the meaning of this even clearer. It reveals that everyone who tries to remove the heavy burden of the Jerusalem crisis will be utterly destroyed for getting involved with it.”Isaac and Ishmael’s fight (fight between Jews & Arabs) over possession of Jerusalem has drawn the whole world into it – just as the prophets predicted. It is the culmination of Ishmael’s 4,000 year-old hatred of his half brother Isaac, the forefather of the Israelites.”

Hal Lindsey noted,

“I pray that somehow this message will get through to President Bush and Secretary Rice. This prophecy applies to this very moment in which we live. And in light of what they are forcing on Israel, it applies to them personally. …they not only endanger themselves, but also endanger this nation with the divine curse promised above.”

Largest Evacuation since Civil War – Fox News

Was it any wonder that another disaster threatened to destroy thousands of American homes – this time in Southern California? Up to 850,000 residents were evacuated to flee from the destructive fires raging from San Diego up to Santa Barbara. It was the largest evacuation since the Civil War. (FOX News)

Just like Hurricane Katrina, thousands were fleeing for their lives while their homes were threatened or destroyed. At the precise moment Secretary of State Rice pressured Israel to “divide” her land and give up more land to Palestinians, Americans were losing their own land and properties in a biblical inferno.

Poking Sticks in God’s Eye?

Coincidence? Again? How many times must we suffer harm before we learn not to poke sticks in the “apple of God’s eye” – Israel? Zechariah 2:8 says…“He has sent me against the nations which plunder you, for he who touches you touches the apple of His eye.”


John McTernan’s Prophetic Warning

As You have done to Israel I will do to You (Obadiah 1:15)

The prophet Obadiah warns that God “deals with any nation in direct relation to how that nation interacts with Israel. If a nation blesses Israel, God blesses that nation. If a nation curses Israel, He curses that nation. It is that simple.

“For the day of the LORD upon all the nations is near. As you have done (to Israel), it shall be done to you. Your reprisal shall return upon your own head” (Obadiah 1:15, NKJV).

Will American Leaders Hurt the USA by Dividing Israel?


Why are our “Christian” leaders doing this to America? Why are they persistently interfering with the “apple of God’s eye?” Why are they repeatedly trying to get Israel to divide up her covenantal land? Why do they not see that each time they interfere with Jerusalem and Israel they simultaneously witness destruction in one American city after another? Why do they continue to put us in harm’s way?



Is Replacement Theology Blinding Leaders to Warnings?

According to McTernan, “Most likely the religious leaders believe replacement theology (that the church replaces biblical Israel). Therefore, their doctrine blinds them to the warning-judgments.”

“America is trying to divide the covenant land and God judges any nation for this. God is trying to warn America of the awful consequences of interfering with His prophetic plan. God always warns before judgment, and He uses people as His instrument of warning.”

God is now warning America

Continuing McTernan states, “For example, Noah warned the people for 120 years prior to the great flood. Before God judged the ancient Canaanites, He warned them for 400 years. He warned Israel, with prophet after prophet, for close to two hundred years before the Babylonian captivity. He warned Israel through the New Testament apostles and prophets for 40 years before the second dispersion. God is now warning America.”

Disasters on very day U.S. Interferes with Israel

“The Bible lists all of God’s warnings. God is verifying these warnings with awesome disasters which have hit America on the very day the nation pressured Israel to divide the covenant land. For example, every time Yasser Arafat came to America there was an awesome disaster.”

Destruction Judgments

McTernan continues “At some point, the warning-judgments cross over to destruction-judgments. The destruction-judgments will break the nation and stop the interference with God’s plan for Israel. There is no recovery from destruction-judgments. It appears Hurricane Katrina was the first destruction-judgment.”


Editor: Listening to McTernan one has to ask “Is the Southern California inferno the second judgment? Will the Atlanta drought be the third? What about the current BP oil spill disaster? What is next?”

Wrath Judgments

“God takes His covenant with Abraham, Isaac and Jacob very seriously. The judgments begin after a nation hardens its heart and is adamant against His word. It appears that the rebellion and unbelief in God’s word has now taken America to the brink of wrath-judgments.”

Are we Connecting the Dots?

“God has warned and warned, but most people seem asleep. Maybe, unbelief toward the Bible and also replacement theology has taken its toll on the spiritual discernment of the people. God has warned but are people making the connection?” (McTernan 2007, 166).

Is it a coincidence that California Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger shook his fist at God with policies designed to mock God’s Word and to destroy the traditional family unit?



Prophetic Warning from David Wilkerson

In One Hour Everything will Change

I have before me another prophetic warning from David Wilkerson dated September 3, 2007. It is called: “In One Hour, Everything is Going to Change.”

“The prophet Isaiah warns us that in the last days God is going to turn the world upside down…(Isaiah 24:1).”

“According to this prophecy, sudden judgment is coming upon the earth, and it will change everything in a single hour. Within that short span, the whole world will witness fast falling destruction upon a city and a nation, and the world will never be the same.”

“The apostle John gives a similar warning in Revelation. He speaks of destructive judgment coming upon a city and nation:

“In one day, death, and mourning, and famine – and she shall be utterly BURNED WITH FIRE: for strong is the Lord God who judgeth her…For in ONE HOUR so great riches is come to nought” (Revelation 18:8, 17).

In Less than an Hour

On FOX news television several years ago, we heard California Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger state,

…”One minute the home is there…and in less than an hour the fire has destroyed it! In one hour everything’s gone!”

Coincidence?

God help us as we witness calmity after calamity striking America!
